Sent to Camp Taylor, Ky.; transferred to Ft. Thomas, Ky.; assigned to Quartermasters Corps. Transferred to Remount Division N. 319. Died of mastoiditis March 8, 1918, Camp Taylor, Ky. Buried in Marion, Ind. Honored as a Gold Star in Grant County, IN
