Son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cassady; born July 31, 1895, Logansport, Ind. Living in Kokomo, Ind., when he enlisted in U.S. Regular Army July 3, 1916. Sent to Columbus Barracks, Ohio; assigned to Company H, 23rd Infantry. Served on the Mexican Border in 1916. Transferred to Camp Upton, N.Y.; assigned to 152nd Depot Brigade. Died of pneumonia October 1, 1918. Buried in Logansport, Ind. Survived by widow, Nellie Cassady, Peru, Ind. Honored as a Gold Star in Howard County, IN |
