|Will B Nelp
was born in Peru, Indiana on 16 December, 1893 to Louis and Henrietta
(Borchers) Nelp. He attended public schools in Peru and graduated in 1911 from
Peru High School. Will served in World War One as a Lieutenant in the
US Air Service as an Army Air Corps Pilot.
Will had been an outstanding athlete at Franklin College during his undergraduate days. After his graduation and service, he went to Pittsburgh to pursue commercial enterprises. After several years, he returned to Franklin College and served as its athletic director and as an executive assistant to the college president, Dr W G Spencer.
Will died while on a business trip to Mexico City on 5 November 1945. He was laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
