| Jerome Edwin Nelp was born in Peru, Indiana to Louis and Henrietta (Borchers) Nelp on 1 October 1900. He graduated from Peru High School in the class of 1917. He entered the United States Navy on 4 Apr 1918 and trained at Camp Lawrence. He served aboard the USS Michigan and was honorably discharged on 11 August 1919. He died 8 May 1949 at his apartment in Indianapolis. At the time of his death, he was employed at Curry-Miler Veneer Co. of Indianapolis. His ashes were interred at Peru Mount Hope Cemetery. DLB | |
