George Richard Barth was born 18 Jul 1893 in Peru, Indiana to Theodore and Catherine (Toben) Barth. He enlisted 14 Dec 1917 and was discharged 24 Jun 1919. On 16 February 1920 he and Mary Collette Shanahan applied for a marriage license in Miami County, Indiana.  They were married nearly 53 years when she passed on 20 Jan 1973. George worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad.  He died 24 May 1974 and was buried in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
